AMES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resource's Forestry-Fire Program has made money available to rural fire departments in the state, with a 50% reimbursement grant.
Wildland Fire Supervisor with Iowa DNR Gail Kantak told KXCV/KRNW that departments fighting wildfires should apply because of what the funding assists with.
Applications are due on October 15. More information and the grant application are available at iowadnr.gov/fire.
