ROCK PORT, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man died in a two-vehicle wreck over the weekend.
The Patrol says 52-year-old Troy Landess, of Clarinda, Iowa, wrecked on a private levy access road, two miles west of Highway 111 and five miles south of Rock Port, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say Landess was driving a 2009 Mack truck when he attempted to cross a private railroad crossing when the truck was slammed by a BNSF Locomotive, partially ejecting Landess.
The truck came to a rest in an embankment. Landess was taken to Nemaha County Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
