DES MOINES, Iowa - Fur harvest season begins this week in Iowa and trappers can potentially except good numbers this year.
Iowa DNR furbearer biologist Vince Evelsizer told KXCV/KRNW that several species in the area have been increasing.
Furharvesters are reminded to contact a conservation office within 24 hours of taking an otter or bobcat to receive a tag. The DNR will not be collecting Bobcat and Otter skulls and lower jaws this year.
