DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is getting set to offer two ice fishing courses to individuals hoping to learn more about the craft.
DNR Fishing Coordinator Barb Gigar told KXCV/KRNW that the first session, offered Jan. 12, will cover the basics of ice fishing for those who have little-to-no experience.
Gigar said the second course, offered Jan. 19, will also dive into some more advanced equipment.
Each course will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and participants must register in advance at the Iowa DNR's website underneath the fishing tab. Registration is free.
