JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is offering a program for landowners to protect and restore their property.
The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program will compensate landowners in order to secure certain flood-prone areas of land vital to wildlife habitats.
Assistant State Conversationalist Chris Hamilton told KXCV/KRNW that this helps efforts to restore land around the state.
The deadline for landowners to apply for easements is Feb. 12.
