ELMO, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Maryville man struck a creek bridge over the weekend.
The Patrol says 23-year-old Dustyn Wilmes was northbound on Route C just south of Elmo in a 2003 Chevy truck, at 2:05 p.m., when he struck the base of the Moss Branch bridge, going airborne, crossing the creek, and striking an embankment.
Authorities say that Wilmes was taken to Mosaic Hospital in Maryville with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
