JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Despite the dreary weather this week, insects are still emerging this spring. That's why the Missouri Department of Conservation is urging the public to be friendly to bees.
According to a press release from the MDC, the best way to help out bees is by planting colorful flowers. For those who don't have a yard, officials say you can still help by getting a planting box or pot.
The MDC adds that the Show-Me State is home to 450 species of native bees.
