JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation has the numbers after testing harvested deer for Chronic Wasting Disease.
Spokesperson for the MDC Joe Jerek told KXCV/KRNW that monitoring where cases are found and managing these testing efforts helps limit the spread of this disease.
Jerek adds they also found cases in Linn County. Jerek says that with the help of landowners in areas where CWD has been found, the MDC has been able to harvest 2,713 deer, removing 18 infected deer.
