MO man serious injured after single-vehicle wreck


HOLT, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 20-year-old man is in serious condition after a single-vehicle wreck in Clinton County.

The Patrol says James Atkins of Kearney was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer on SE 207th St. near SE Sunny Lane, one mile west of Holt, when he wrecked at 8:46 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities say he intentionally failed to negotiate a curve and struck a pole. He was taken to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries. He wasn't wearing a seat belt.
