ALBANY, Mo. - The Albany Board of Alderman authorized a use of grant funds to help purchase a new wheel loader and vacuum excavator.
The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and paid for 30% of the purchase price for the equipment.
City Administrator Derek Brown told KXCV/KRNW that both pieces will be invaluable to the city.
Brown added the vacuum excavator will be a much safer way for the city to excavate, especially around utilities. He estimated the retail cost of both pieces of equipment to be near $200,000.
