MSHP: St. Joseph man seriously injured in DeKalb County wreck


STEWARTSVILLE, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 52-year-old St. Joseph man is recovering in the hospital after a single-vehicle wreck in DeKalb County.

The Patrol says John Rothwell was driving a 2008 BMW 750 on 36 Highway, just west of Stewartsville, at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the BMW traveled off the road and struck an embankment. Rothwell, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph with serious injuries.
