MARYVILLE, Mo. - Severe rain made its way across the Midwest region Thursday night into Friday morning, specifically hitting the KXCV/KRNW listening area the hardest.
Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill Jared Leighton told KXCV/KRNW that northwest Missouri to the Iowa border saw two to six inches of rain with significantly higher amounts south of Maryville.
Several severe thunderstorm, flash flood and tornado warnings were also issued in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas throughout the night.
According to reports from the weather service, more rain is expected throughout the weekend. Flash flood warnings for the region are in effect through early Sunday morning.
