Two Nodaway County residents injured in wreck

PARNELL, Mo. - A wreck in rural Nodaway County sent two people to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 76-year-old William Stiens, of Skidmore, was driving a 2021 Polaris Ranger on Orion Road, one mile west of Parnell.

At 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Steins failed to yield to a 2005 Chevy 2500 at 200th St. The collision sent Steins to Mosaic in St. Joseph with serious injuries and a passenger, 62-year-old Harold Spire of Maryville, to Mosaic in Maryville with moderate injuries.

Neither were wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Chevy, 19-year-old Krista Staples of Parnell, suffered no injuries.
