JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - With the 4th of July this weekend, the Missouri Department of Conservation wants to remind folks to celebrate safely and responsibly.
News Services coordinator for the MDC Joe Jerek told KXCV/KRNW that fireworks aren't the only concerning thing this time of year.
He says people should keep flammables a safe distance away from campfires and to always have water or a fire extinguisher nearby.
The MDC also reminds people to remain vigilant, and if you know of any wildfires being set by arsonists, to call 800-392-1111.
