MO pig farmers encouraged to donate

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri pig farmers and partners helped put a dent in food-insecurity last year.

Through the Missouri Farmers Care Pork Partnership, pig farmers were able to donate 611 pigs which provided more than 318,000 servings of pork. Because of that success, the effort is growing under a new name, Hogs for Hunger.

As part of the expansion, pig farmers and 4-H and F-F-A exhibitors statewide are invited to donate pigs. Interested donors can visit mofarmerscare.com/drive.
