Two-vehicle accident in Atchison County leaves 2 with injuries

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a man is in serious condition after a two-vehicle wreck in Atchison County.

The Patrol says 72-year-old Darwin Houghton, of Tarkio, was driving a 2018 Chevy Equinox on the 136 Highway overpass at I-29 in Rockport at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday. The crash occurred when a towed unit of the Equinox crossed both lanes while making a turn, and the front of a semi, driven by 39-year-old Bryce Stuchlik of Washoo, Nebraska, struck the towed unit.

Darwin Houghton was transported to Community Hospital of Fairfax, then transported by Air Ambulance to the University of Nebraska Hospital with serious injuries. 70-year-old Georgia Houghton, a passenger in the Chevy, was transported to Community Hospital of Fairfax with minor juries, while Stuchlik had no injuries.
