CLARINDA, Iowa - The Lied Public Library in Clarinda is offering a program to die for. Specifically, Historian Kathy Wilson's "Fashions To Die For" program teaches about fashion during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Library Director Andrew Hoppmann told KXCV/KRNW that this lecture-style program features the deadly secrets behind the tight corsets and the toxic dyes in the clothing, making people sick, injured, or die.
The event is open to the public at 6:30 p.m. next Monday at the library. The program will also be livestreamed through Zoom. For more information and to request the Zoom link, call the library at 712-542-2416 or visit clarindalibrary.org.
