MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University will be saving money on energy costs and reducing carbon dioxide emissions thanks to a gift from a utility company. Evergy gifted Northwest $80,000 for the installation of a 25-KW solar electric grid.
The grid, which will go on the roof of the Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, will allow Northwest to track energy savings and efficiencies, as well as solar production. Just in two months of use, the grid has already saved Northwest about 775 dollars in energy costs.
