DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is now accepting applications for Trees for Kids.
For over 30 years, the program has helped to improve youth engagement and education by getting kids outdoors, involved in planting trees and helps them to understand the importance of trees.
Urban Forestry Program Specialist with the DNR Gabriele Edwards says grants up to $2,500 are available to cover the cost of trees and mulch.
Applications are being accepted through September 17, and applications can be found at iowadnr.gov/urbanforestry.
