JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation has a reminder for hunters. The MDC says that dove season opens on Sept. 1 and runs through Nov. 29.
As for other migratory birds, it's Sept. 1 through Nov. 9 for sora and Virginia rails, Sept. 1 through Dec. 16 for Wilson's common and snipe, and Oct. 15 through Nov. 28 for American woodcock.
The MDC notes that due to flooding and wet weather this Summer, some dove management areas may not be ready. For more information about dove season, visit mdc.mo.gov.
