KING CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two Waverly, Iowa residents were injured after a two-vehicle crash over the weekend in King City.
The Patrol says 78-year-old Paula Grant was driving a 2018 GMC with 75-year-old Richard Grant in the car. Authorities say at 11:42 a.m. Sunday, the GMC was stopped at a stop sign near U.S. Highway 169 and MO Highway 43.
But the GMC failed to yield to a semi-truck and was rear-ended before striking a fire hydrant. Richard Paul, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries.
Paula Grant, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
