MU Extension Office holding free program on diabetes


SAVANNAH, Mo. - The University of Missouri Extension is offering a free diabetes program.

County Engagement Specialist in Nutrition and Health Education Gina Lucas told KXCV/KRNW that the "Living a Healthy Life with Diabetes" program provides information on how people manage diabetes.

Some topics include general principles of self-management and how healthy eating, physical activity, stress, and sickness impacts blood-sugar.

The program starts tomorrow and runs through Sept. 15, offering (2) two-hour long sessions. One session will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Andrew County Youth Building in Savannah.

The second session will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Joyce Raye Patterson Activity Center in St. Joseph. You can call the Andrew County Office to sign up for classes.
