DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is partnering with the Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, to expand the Shooting Sports Outreach pilot program.
Hunter Education Coordinator Jamie Cook told KXCV/KRNW that the partnership will create new programs aimed at introducing newer audiences, both adults and youth, to the outdoors to combat the gradual hunting decline since the 1980s.
Cook adds that there are other programs this fall that will introduce new audiences to various hunting programs including bow hunting and archery, deer management, and an upland course for birds like pheasants and quail.
