MSHP: South Dakota woman seriously injured in wreck

ROCK PORT, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an elderly woman is in serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Atchison County.

The Patrol says 71-year-old Rita Sutton of South Dakota, wrecked on Highway 136 at I-29 in Rock Port at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say Sutton was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla that failed to yield and struck a 2019 Ram 1500, driven by 26-year-old Bryce Roecker, of Fairfax.

Sutton, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Nemaha County Hospital. Roecker, who was wearing a seatbelt, experienced no injuries.
