SAVANNAH, Mo. - The Savannah R-3 School District is now accepting design entries for a new mascot.
Communications Coordinator and School Board Secretary Jess Gillepp told KXCV/KRNW that the board decided to change their previous mascot, a Native American, so this is the beginning of the process to find something new.
Some requirements include that the colors are black and gold and it not be Native American-related or towards any kind of people groups or cultures. Entries do not have to be a completed design.
Community members, students, and alumni can submit designs now until October 22. For more information and to submit a design, visit the Savannah R-3 website.
