ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The month of November is open burning month in St. Joseph. Public Information Officer Stephanie Malita says that the open burn period is restricted to certain safety conditions.
Other laws for the burn period includes keeping fires more than 15 feet away from buildings, having only one burn container per residence, and having firefighting materials such as a garden hose or buckets of water on hand.
Any violation of open burning restrictions may result in a misdemeanor violation.
