UNION STAR, Mo. - Human remains have been found at a Union Star home in connection with a homicide investigation.
DeKalb County Sheriff Kasey Keesaman told KXCV/KRNW that the investigation started after they received information from an outside agency earlier this week.
Sheriff Keesaman wouldn't go into details about that tip or the discovery of human remains. The residents of the house, 59-year-old Kevin McGinnis and 26-year-old Kori McGinnis, have been arrested and charged with unrelated crimes.
Kevin McGinnis is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm while Kori McGinnis is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Sheriff Keesaman says they are considered persons of interest. No other information about this case has been released, but residents say authorities have been at the investigation site all day and all night.
