DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says deer hunters can expect one of the the busiest seasons of the year soon.
The first of two shotgun deer seasons opens Saturday, December 4, ending Wednesday, December 8, and the second season lasting from December 11th to December 19th.
Biometrician and Deer Program Leader for the Iowa DNR Tyler Harms says there is a buck-only harvest restriction for 17 counties in the northwest Iowa region for the first season.
