JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A Savannah native has gotten a big promotion at the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Lt. Gara Howard is being promoted to Captain and is being named director of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division in Jefferson City.
Howard, who grew up in Savannah and graduated Savannah High School in 1993, joined the Patrol back in 1998. Over the years Howard has worked with Troop H, serving in multiple counties across the northwest Missouri region.
Howard's promotion takes effect January 1st, 2022.
