Charges filed in connection with deadly wreck

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Buchanan County prosecutors have filed charges in connection with a deadly two-vehicle crash over the weekend.

Steven Ayala is charged with felony driving while intoxicated after allegedly causing a fatal wreck that killed 26-year-old Savannah Domann.

Authorities say Ayala's vehicle crashed into Domann's vehicle near South Belt Highway and Sacramento St. in St. Joseph the night of Jan. 14.

Ayala was arrested at the scene. According to Domann's obituary, she was expecting a baby girl in July. A GoFundMe has been set-up to Domann's family and her boyfriend.
