JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Conservation has released preliminary figures from the state's alternative-methods portion of the firearms deer season.
The MDC says 9,965 deer were hunted during the season which lasts from Dec. 25 through Jan. 4. These numbers are lower than last year’s alternative-methods portion, which was 14,623.
The MDC adds that archery deer season is still ongoing and ends on Jan. 15. For more information about hunting seasons in Missouri, the MDC asks you to visit mdc.mo.gov.
