CRAIG, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says snow may be to blame for a wreck that sent a child to the hospital over the weekend.
The Patrol said Sylvana Meza of Springdale, Ark., 28, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, with a nine-year-old in the passenger seat on U.S. Interstate 29 two miles south of Craig.
Authorities said at 11:26 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14 the Chevy slid off the snow covered highway and into a ditch. The child, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was taken to Mosaic with serious injuries while Meza, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
