ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - St. Joseph police have identified a 29-year-old man who died after a confrontation over the holidays.

Police say Dallas Dakota Rails died after several days in the hospital from injuries he suffered on Christmas night. Police say they found Rails at a home near Ingersoll Rd. and Lakeview Ave.

Police were called to the scene about a homeowner confronting an alleged burglar that was attempting to break into the home's detached garage.

Rails was critically injured and died several days later. No other information has been released, but police say they are investigating this case as a homicide.
