CHILLICOTHE, Mo. - The Chillicothe R-2 School District and Board of Education are moving forward on a project.
They will be asking voters on April 5 to approve a no-increase tax levee so that the district can close two older elementary schools, Field and Dewey, and then construct an addition to the Chillicothe Elementary School.
Superintendent Dan Wiebers says if approved, the building will have pre-K through fifth grade.
Wiebers adds the district will be explaining the benefits of the proposed project in the coming months.
