Human trafficking symposium in Missouri next month

TRENTON, Mo. - An event aimed at raising awareness of human trafficking and empowering survivors will be held in Missouri soon.

"Exposed: Shining the Light on Human Trafficking" will feature presenters from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Stop Human Trafficking Coalition, the Stop Trafficking Project and the Kirksville Cyber Crime Unit.

Executive Director with the Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri Christopher Small who are organizing the event, says it's going to be an educational, but intense event.

The come-and-go event will be on March 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Trenton.

The event is open to the public at no cost, though attendees are asked to leave a message with the number of people coming by calling 660-359-3907.
