BOONE, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has released data on its "Chickadee Check-off" tax donations from the last tax year, in the hopes that you take part this year.
The DNR's Fish and Wildlife Fund, commonly known as the Chickadee Check-off, saw an increase in donations of nearly $25,000, the largest increase in 24 years.
Wildlife Biologist with the DNR, Stephanie Shepherd says that donations to the fund are tax-deductible, and 100% of the money goes to wildlife. To donate to the fund, you can look in Section 9 of your Iowa tax forms.
