ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two St. Joseph men have been injured after a two-vehicle crash.
The Patrol says Cory Schmidt, 32, was driving a 2007 Toyota on Interstate 29 just south of the Frederick Ave. exit in St. Joseph.
Authorities say at 8:47 p.m. Schmidt drove the Toyota into the rear of a 2013 Ford SUV being driven by Celso Garcia, 56, causing both cars to smash into the guard rail.
Schmidt, who wasn't wearing his seat belt, suffered serious injuries while Garcia, who was wearing his seatbelt, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
