IOWA CITY, Iowa - As things begin to warm up, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a reminder for people anxious to get back out on the water.
Boating Law Administrator and Education Coordinator with the Iowa DNR Susan Stocker says before getting into your boats or kayaks, you'll want to clean and inspect your lifejackets.
As for inflatable lifejackets, Stocker says they should be free of any cracks or pin holes in the plastic bladders and the CO2 cartridge should be sealed and stored in temperatures above freezing.
