WASHINGTON - As long as you can handle the weather extremes, like the ones we've had recently, the Midwest is a decent place to retire.

According to the financial website WalletHub, Missouri is the 17th best place to retire while Iowa is the 20th best place to retire.

WalletHub, which ranked all 50 states, adds that Kansas ranked 24th while Nebraska ranked 32nd. Wallet-Hub looked at several metrics, including taxes, cost of living, crime and other factors.

The best place to retire was Florida while the worst place to retire was New Jersey.
