HOPKINS, Mo. - Two Hopkins residents are in the hospital after a wreck in Nodaway County over the weekend. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 77-year-old Joan Westcott was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 on Katy Rd., one mile south of Hopkins.
At 3:40 p.m. last Friday, Westcott lost control of Ford which travelled off the road and overturned. Westcott was ejected while a 14-year-old passenger was partly ejected.
Neither were wearing their seatbelts. Westcott was taken to KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. by Air E-VAC while the teenager was taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
