WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - One area grocery chain is launching a fundraiser in the hopes of combating food insecurity. Hy-Vee's "Food Bank Fridays" will raise funds for local food banks across the region.
The new fundraiser will ask customers to make a $1 or $5 donation at their local Hy-Vee or Dollar Fresh Market. Every Friday, Hy-Vee will feature a food bank on its social media pages showing how people can donate.
