The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri Prescribed Fire Council are urging land owners to log your prescribed burns on private lands.
Controlled burnings help accomplish land management goals such as reducing fuel loads for wildfires, restoring natural plant life, enhancing wildlife populations, and controlling a number of invasive species.
Missouri Prescribed Fire Coordinating Biologist, Westly Buchite, says that the prescribed fire log helps keep track of safety metrics with more accurate burning data.
