JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation always encourages you to slow down, but right now, the Missouri Department of Conservation is encouraging you to slow down as well.
That's because of turtles. Turtles are at higher risk of being on roads in the spring due to warm and wet conditions.
News Services Coordinator with the MDC Jill Pritchard advises against doing anything else that's not slowing down to avoid our scaly friends.
For more information you can visit mdc.mo.gov, click the field guide tab and search turtles in the search bar.
