JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows that young turkey hunters in Missouri nabbed 2,881 birds over the past youth weekend, April 9-10.
This is a slight increase over 2021 when young ones hunted 2,795 turkeys. Just seven turkeys were hunted in Nodaway County.
The top counties for turkey hunting this year were Miller with 87 birds, Osage with 71, and Franklin with 71. For more harvest information visit mdc.mo.gov.
