MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Maryville city council is using COVID-19 funds to tackle a problem that worsened during the pandemic.
During Monday night's regularly scheduled meeting, the city council approved an agreement with St. Francis Hospital Foundation to provide $20,000 towards mental health initiatives through Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville.
City Manager Greg McDanel adds that there is about $600,000 in COVID-19 funds remaining that are unallocated.
Also happening at the meeting, the city council certified last week's election results and selected city councilman Tye Parsons as the next mayor of Maryville. City councilman Dannen Merrill will serve as Mayor Pro-Tem.
