JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri's GOP-led House has approved a roughly $46 billion state budget for the upcoming year bulked up by federal pandemic-related aid. House lawmakers passed the spending plan Thursday.
It now goes to the Republican-led Senate. Legislators are responsible for finding ways to spend the billions of dollars in extra federal funding states received in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
House Democrats say Republicans are being too stingy with the federal aid, while some Republicans are worried about spending too much too quickly.
