Mosaic to assist with youth culinary training program

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Mosaic Life Care Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to assist in the creation of a youth culinary training program.

The grant was awarded to the Second Harvest Comunity Food Bank and the St. Joseph Youth Alliance, who together are creating the First Course Culinary Academy.

Kristina Lund, Director of Regional Relations for the MLC Foundation, says the academy will be open for youth ages 17 through 24 in Andrew, Buchanan and DeKalb counties, providing culinary arts training along with general education.
