MARYVILLE, Mo. - The community is beginning to turn up the heat on the Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents.
The Regents met briefly at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, allowing for about 30 to 40 minutes of public comment. Over half a dozen people weighed in on the Regents' decision to not renew President John Jasinski’s contract.
One of those was associate professor at Northwest, David Shadinger.
Other comments, which came from Northwest employees and alumni, as well as residents of Maryville, were equally critical of the Regents. The Zoom meeting had well over 100 people in attendance.
The Regents did not respond to any questions from the public and did not comment on any of the remarks. Public comments will be welcome at their next meeting, scheduled for 1 p.m. on May 4 in the Student Union.
