MARYVILLE, Mo. - President of Northwest Missouri State University, Dr. John Jasinski has announced he will be leaving his post June 30 of this year.

In an email to the University community, the president said the Board of Regents told him they would not renew his contract when it ends on June 30. There has been no formal vote on the matter. Jasinski adds he was told the Board made the move to "turn to a new chapter."

Later in his email, he asked people to "look critically at the Board of Regents...Understand the innerworkings and ties to others, discern the intended direction, ascertain support or lack thereof for critical issues and weigh in on the institution’s future."

Jasinski has not clarified what he meant by this in his letter.
