April 5, 2022St. Joseph, Mo. | By: Brennen LaMastres
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - An event coming to the KXCV/KRNW listening area will showcase movements started during the Civil War. The St. Joseph Museum is presenting "An Evening of Storytelling - Buffalo Soldiers on the Trail."
Event and Volunteer Coordinator for the St. Joseph Museum Sara Parks says that this is something seen as an expansion of their already pre-existing exhibits.
John "JR" Bruce, veteran and president of KC Buffalo Soldiers, and George Pettigrew, great grandson of an original Buffalo Soldier, will provide legacy stories of when Black men entered armed forces in the U.S. during the Civil War-era.
The event is Thursday, April 21st from 5-7 p.m., and is free and open to the public.
